The Parent and Family Orientation Webinar offers the opportunity to preview campus life, learn about available resources, meet staff and faculty, and discuss what to expect during your student's first few quarters at UC San Diego. Parent and Family Orientation Webinar is a unique program, separate from the New Student Orientation.

Parent & Family Orientation (Optional)

In collaboration with Parent & Family Programs, the campus will offer a series of optional online webinars for family members during the summer. Marshall College will offer an optional virtual session specifically for Marshall College family members in early September. The exact dates are forthcoming, but should be released by early/mid July. These webinars are designed to help family members with the transition of their student to college.

Why should I attend the Parent and Family Orientation Webinar?
  • The transition to college affects the student just as much as it does the family. Family members are encouraged to attend Parent and Family Orientation Webinar so that they can learn more about UC San Diego, Thurgood Marshall College, and further involve themselves in their student's homes for the next few years. Parent and Family Orientation Webinar is an optional program for family members to attend.
