Living Well

Thurgood Marshall College and UC San Diego offer multiple services and programs to help students manage all aspects of their personal wellness:

  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides individual, couple, group, and family psychotherapy to registered UC San Diego students.
  • Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education at the Sexual Assault Resource Center (CARE at SARC) is the UC San Diego confidential* advocacy and education office for sexual violence and gender-based violence (dating violence, domestic violence, stalking).
  • Student Health Services provides quality primary medical care, including urgent care and support services such as laboratory, pharmacy, and x-ray. Their health promotion and disease prevention programs encourage all students to develop positive health behaviors now and for the future.
  • UC San Diego Recreation engages students and the campus community to pursue lifelong wellbeing, growth, and success through their tips, courses, and resources.
  • The Zone is UC San Diego's lounge for student health and well-being. They provide free wellness programs that promote healthy living, personal development, and well-being resources.

Campus Safety

  • The Community Service Official (CSO) Program employs UC San Diego students and offers many safety-related services, including year-round campus safety escorts.
    • Safety Escorts is a service provided by the UCPD and CSO Program offering late-night escorts around campus.
  • The Office for the Prevention of Harassment & Discrimination (OPHD) serves UC San Diego by educating the community on issues such as bias, harassment, and discrimination and assisting with the prevention and resolution of these issues in a fair and responsible manner.
  • The Triton Alert Emergency Notification System keeps the campus community updated during emergency situations. You can choose how you receive alerts: through e-mail, SMS (text messaging), and/or voice messaging.
  • UCPD is committed to building community partnerships and applying unique and innovative policing practices to the UC San Diego campus.
