Thurgood Marshall College @ Ridge Walk North Living & Learning Neighborhood
Starting Fall 2025!

Welcome to Your New Home at Thurgood Marshall College

Living the Legacy of Justice, Equity, and Community

Welcome to the newest housing community at Thurgood Marshall College, a vibrant, inclusive living space inspired by our commitment to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. These modern buildings are more than just a place to live; they are a reflection of the rich tapestry of cultures, voices, and stories that make up UC San Diego and our Marshall College family.

The newly designed apartments at the Ridge Walk North Living and Learning Neighborhood (RWNLLN) will open in Fall 2025, providing housing for approximately 2,400 students. Located adjacent to the Hopkins Parking Structure and built on the former site of the TMC Lower Apartments, this neighborhood represents the next evolution of student living, rooted in community, purpose, and belonging.

Every floor and building is named in honor of the diverse communities that shape who we are, creating a space where every student can feel seen, valued, and empowered. With state-of-the-art amenities designed to support your academic, personal, and social growth, this is where community thrives, where learning and living are deeply connected.

Whether you're studying in a quiet lounge, connecting with peers in shared spaces, or attending events that celebrate our collective identities, we hope you’ll find a home that reflects both your values and those of our community.

We’re proud to welcome you home!

Overview

TMC All-Gendered Housing

Pilot Program:  Starting with eligible Thurgoodod Marshall (TMC) continuing students participating in the 2025 Room Selection process, TMC has chosen to change the housing assignment process to default to an “all gendered housing” model where assignments are selected/made irrespective of gender, with the option to choose gendered housing if that is what students prefer, thus de-centering binary gender structures in the newly built Marshall College housing at the Ridge Walk Living Learning Neighborhood.  Please stay tuned for upcoming documentation as well as TMC's information session/webinar happening in March. Check back for updates frequently!  All-Gendered Housing is open to all eligible students. All-Gendered Housing does not consider race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and/or other protected categories as part of the process.
