Commuter Student Life at Marshall
Commuter students are welcome at Marshall College! Below, you will find key resources and involvement opportunities for commuter students at UC San Diego. Commuter students are eligible to participate in any and all UC San Diego and Marshall involvement opportunities, but the specific opportunities listed below are specifically tailored to your needs as a commuter student on campus!
Commuting to Campus
Take the Bus
All current undergraduate and graduate students who have paid quarterly registration fees are eligible for U-Pass. UC San Diego Extension students and visiting scholars are not eligible for the program. The Triton U-Pass is a program offered to UC San Diego students that grants unlimited access to regional MTS and NCTD bus and trolley/light rail routes during the fall, winter, and spring academic quarters.

Find a Carpool:
Faculty, staff, and students who live off campus, commute to UC San Diego, and are committed to carpooling daily can form a carpool or vanpool and receive incentives.

A.S. Safe Rides with Lyft

UC San Diego Associated Students (A.S.) has teamed up with Lyft to provide safe rides for its students. Using the A.S. Safe Rides program, students who link their UC San Diego email address with a Lyft account can unlock a limited number of free or discounted rides each quarter. Offers vary.

Safety Escorts
To request an escort from a student Community Service Official, call (858) 534-9255 or extension 4-WALK from a campus phone year-round between sunset and sunrise. After 1 a.m., University Safety Officials may provide this service. You can also arrange a recurring escort if you need a CSO to meet you at the same place and time regularly.

Getting Involved
Marshall Transfers and Commuters (MTAC)
Marshall Transfers and Commuters (MTAC) is dedicated to improving the transfer and commuter student experience at Marshall. As a member of MTAC, you will have the opportunity to actively shape the experiences and activities of transfers and commuters at Marshall College while simultaneously honing your own leadership skills.

All-Campus Commuter Board (ACCB)
ACCB is a student-run commission aimed at serving commuter students by providing social events and advocacy in student government for commuters. Considering joining ACCB to make an impact on the commuter student life!
Commuter Lockers
University Centers (UCEN) offers commuter lockers for you to store your belongings. Lockers can be rented for the entire year or by quarter.
