Profile
Emily graduated from UC San Diego-John Muir College with a B.S. degree in Psychology and earned her M.A. degree in Counseling with a specialization in College Counseling and Student Development from University of San Diego. She has previously served as undergraduate advisor for the UC San Diego Department of Computer Science, undergraduate program coordinator for the UC San Diego Department of Cognitive Science, and a senior academic counselor and assistant dean of academic advising at Thurgood Marshall College.
Learning about her students through their stories and how these shape their experiences at UCSD as well as helping them discover their interests and strengths through self-advocacy and personal responsibility are at the heart of how she serves students. Emily’s piece of advice: “There is always something new to learn. Be patient in the process and keep moving forward.”
